Health and wellness are an essential component of our athletic program. Physical Education is given 2-3 times per week. Students learn that excellence is achieved through self-discipline, dedication, and focus in and out of the classroom and that competition and teamwork go hand in hand. Emphases are on learning the skill sets of various sports and working together as a group to perform well.
Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to engage in various physical activities. We do strength training at the GJCC fitness studio and weight room. Students exercise on the cardiovascular equipment, learning how to gauge their workouts based on heart rate and perceived exertion. They also spend time in the pool, doing resistance training.
